Elections 2026 Cases from the voting machines’ internal logs

← The “compasso” case

2026 versus 2022

The same calculation, done on the voting machines of the previous election. The 2022 log files come from the same official TSE package. It is another election, with another version of the voting machine’s software.

The two patterns happen together, in the same voting machines, on the same day: from vote to vote and from voter ID to voter ID. The voter ID to voter ID count takes in no vote that is already in the vote to vote count, nor the vote right after it. Each vote goes into a single count, and the two add up, in 2022 and in 2026.

Votes in runs: 2 or more consecutive votes

Votes inside runs of 2 or more consecutive votes with the same time, across all of Brazil. In 2026 there were more voting machines and more votes, so the comparison is per 1,000 votes.

On the scale, 2022 and 2026

On one side, the votes in runs, with the two patterns added together. On the other, the difference in votes between the two presidential candidates, across all of Brazil, from each voting machine’s poll tape.

How many times, from 2 consecutive votes up

How many times 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 or more consecutive votes with the same time happened, and how many per 10 million votes. Each row includes the larger ones: “2 or more votes” also counts those of 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The same voting machines

The same polling section (the same state, municipality, zone and polling section number), from one round to the other and from one election to the other. Of the polling sections that had 2 or more consecutive votes with the same time, how many had them again; and, in the other polling sections, how many had them.

The champions: every voting machine with 5 or more consecutive votes

Each voting machine with its longest run, the votes for president in the polling section (poll tape, boletim de urna) and the longest run of the same polling section in the other three rounds.

The voting machine’s log says when each voter voted, not for whom.
